The Pained Apprehension

Sometimes you want someone to change so desperately,
Trying to find the signs exasperatedly,
Gasping for breath,
Grasping at straws,
Seeing changes that are not in the now.
The noise around slowly becoming a sound,
The whisper growing into a bawl,
Truth prevails is all you can hear now.
Having consumed the breaths,
Having broken the straws,
It is dawning on you
That the changes were all a fraud.
The truth becoming a hammer,
Shoves you back into the maze,
Of wanting someone to change desperately,
Looking for the signs exasperatedly.
